Laguna Beach is the second oldest beach side city in Orange County, being incorporated in 1927. Laguna Beach is home to approximately 23,000 residents. Camp Pinniped

Beach Camp Laguna, Mermaids and Sea Cubs

 

When you are preparing to sell your home, consider having a pre house inspection completed. Begin by fixing any obvious home repairs, items such as leaking gutters, chipped paint or stained carpet. Give some thought to completing a home inspection prior to listing the home and fix these items as well. Not only will potential buyers notice how well maintained the house is, but it will also make the closing process go more smoothly. A pre home inspection can save sellers time and money.

 

 

Now that summer has arrived, summer camps are beginning. Beach Camp Laguna, Mermaids and Sea Cubs will offer several camps over the summer from June 19th through August 31st. Camps are designed to introduce children to the marine environment, including lessons about the beach, ocean safety, tide pools and sea creatures. All classes are held in an outdoor setting on various beaches. The camps meet Monday through Thursdays from 9:15am to 11:45am. These camps are aimed at children ages 4 to 7 years old. 8th Annual Martini Madness

 

When selling your home during the summer months, it is very important to control the inside temperature, so potential buyers are comfortable. 10th Annual Laguna Beach, Taste of the Nation

3rd Annual Bike Rodeo and Road Safety Expo

 

Many potential buyers will check your house online or drive it by it prior to making an appointment to see it, so make sure the curb appeals draws them in. Also, potential buyers begin forming opinions about the house the minute they pull up to the curb, make sure they are positive opinions.  The 3rd Annual Bike Rodeo and Road Safety Expo will take place on Sunday, April 30th. The Bike Rodeo and Road Safety Expo is sponsored by the Laguna Beach Police Department. The expo will focus on keeping roadways safe for all users including cyclists, pedestrians and motorists. The Laguna Beach Police Department will continue to promote their “Vision Zero” programs aimed at having zero fatalities or serious injuries on Laguna Beach streets. There will be safety tips for parents, bike and bike helmet inspections and an obstacle course to practice safe bike riding techniques alongside a Laguna Beach Bike Patrol Officer. The Expo begins at 11am and continues until 2pm. This event is open to the public and is free to attend. This is a family friendly event. Laguna Beach Garden Club Speaker

 

When you are preparing your home for a home sale, spend some time doing a deep cleaning prior to listing it. Send out drapes and heavy curtains to have them professionally cleaned. Wash all the blinds, as well. Finally wash the windows both inside and outside. Don’t forget to clean the window sills and the casements of the windows to remove dust and cobwebs. If the weather cooperates, open the windows during open houses and showings, crisp, clean linens and fresh air, will make the home extremely inviting.

 

Laguna Beach Garden Club is having another installment in their popular Speaker Program. On Friday, April 14th their speaker will be Jeff Moore.  The program begins at 9:30am with a social gathering followed by the general meeting at 10am and the speaker at 10:30am. The program speaker, Jeff Moore is the owner of Solana Succulents in Solana Beach for the last 24 years. His program will be “Under the Spell of Succulents;” the discussion will include types of succulents, cultivation, use and container gardening. The Laguna Beach Garden Club is held at the Laguna Presbyterian Church located at 415 Forest Avenue in Laguna Beach. There is no charge for guests on their first visit. The Laguna Beach Garden Club meets the second Friday of the month, September through May. Glassblowing Class at Sawdust Art Festival

 

When getting your home ready to be listed on the real estate market, take the time to do a little planning on how best to show off the homes best features. Fireplaces are wonderful; buyers are looking for them, so make the most of yours. Create a seating area in front of the fireplace, add a great piece of art to the mantel or paint the wall the fireplace an accent color to make the fireplace pop. The Sawdust Art Festival is having a glassblowing class on Saturday April 1st and Saturday, April 8th. The festival offers many classes, including glassblowing, in many levels from beginner to advanced. There are two different glassblowing classes available: a two hour workshop and a four week course with a two hour class each week. Glass blowing classes will be taught by festival glass artists in the Glass Hut. The Sawdust Art Festival is located at 935 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach. The festival is open from 10am to 5pm. The class is $250 to participate in the 2 hour workshop session. You will work one on one with an instructor in the glass booth for the whole two hours. The four week class is $900. The four week session will teach you the basics of glass blowing and you will practice many forms and learn about color. You will go home with your own work of art from either glass blowing class. Hershey Felder at Laguna Playhouse
