Newport Beach is a luxury ocean front city located in Orange County, California. Newport Beach is one of the oldest cities in Orange County, being incorporated in 1906. The city is 35 miles south of Los Angeles and 77 miles north of San Diego. There are two middle schools, one is a standalone middle school; Ensign Middle School, the other is part of the Corona del Mar Intermediate and High School. The other high school in the city is Newport Harbor High School. In addition, there are sixteen private schools in Newport Beach including Our Lady of the Angels, California Virtual Academy, Sage School, Temple Bat Yahm Pre-School and Newport Christian School.
Newport Harbor has a Mediterranean like climate, giving it beautiful year round weather. Newport Harbor is one of the largest recreational boat harbors in the U.S. Newport Beach boasts a unique ‘dock and dine’ option for boaters to enjoy. In addition, there are many other boating activities such as sailing, fishing, rowing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. One of the most popular annual events is the Christmas Boat parade, which has been taking place since 1908. Newport Beach has miles of trails, for hiking, horseback riding, jogging and walking.
